This is a personal blog to let our family and friends know how we get on with the linguistic, cultural and culinary challenges of Asia's world city, Hong Kong. I am currently working as a primary teacher at an international IB school in Hong Kong.

Now that's what I call a typhoon
I have a new window cleaner. His name is Vicente.
Seriously, the windows of Lei Shit Court have never been so sparkring.

As Tropical Storm Vicente hovers outside my window, I contemplate what on earth I can wear to take Child 2 to the doctor this afternoon. The quandary is this - the only thing I have that is (heavy)rainproof is my splash top from college. It is designed to keep you dry, but also warm at 5.45am in the UK winter on the astonishingly cold banks of the Thames.
And I don't particularly want to look like I just stepped out of a novelty condom multi-pack, like the ladies pictured above. What to do?!
Splash top. Obv mine says Balliol not CORC, but same difference

Starbucks
Starbucks is currently flogging what can only be described as a Hojicha and Earl Grey Tea Jelly Frappuccino. Say what you will about Starbies, they are nothing if not boundary-pushing.
Don't forget to try the Green Tea and Red Bean Blended Beveraaaage.
PS, can I interest you in a Frappuccino Dust Stopper Set? Do these things even exist in other countries?

The skank hole rat palace bakery downstairs is closing down - hurray! I can only assume that there'll be a frozen yoghurt shop there soon. Here's a snap of the storeroom. The smell is indescribable.
