Myths

I would never dream of portraying myself as a mother who knew what she was doing, but some things I do know.

You do not GET a cold from from BEING cold.
You do not vomit as a result of being cold.
It is not necessary to wear tights or pyjamas under your clothes all day when it's 10 degrees outside.
Pinching your earlobes does not make you warmer.
If you bump your head, there's no need to boil an egg, peel it, shove a silver ring inside, and then rub it over the bump.
There is no need to put on your outside coat 30 minutes before you leave the house.

Not all members of my family believe these truths.
